Christina C. Yother is the founder and unofficial “Girl Friday” of Project: Underblog. Often known online as “Neena,” she is a wife, mother of three, and recent earner of a PhD. She (painstakingly!) wrote one of the first dissertations focusing specifically on mommy bloggers and how they build their online communities. She is avid reader of trashy novels, a drinker of too much coffee, and a night time romance writer. Hi Cristie. I agree with Christina. You’re so good at this vlogging! As for my thoughts on the possible gluttony of the holidays … While we didn’t endure loss and destruction from a recent hurricane, in July my partner had a heart attack. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the feeling of standing on my back deck alone while the ambulance drove him away and our kids slept upstairs. My life changed forever in that moment. My Sweetie survived and is recovered and doing well. But my life still changed. In so many ways, especially internally. And this holiday season I know so starkly exactly what is important and what could have been. My hope is that everyone can get to this place without enduring such pain on the way.
Jennifer-I’m not sure how I missed this comment but my goodness I’m sorry I did!! You for sure got the worst kind of reminder of what is important to you. I hope 2013 is full of nothing but joy and no more reminders of that sort.
